Liverpool Transfer News: Reds To Bid For Christian Eriksen?

Mirror. The Reds have been chasing the 21-year old Danish international for some time now and watched him play for his country against the Czech Republic and Bulgaria over the past week. Manager Brendan Rodgers was said to be impressed with the scouting reports and is now prepared to take the plunge by making a formal offer for the young star. Eriksen could even be available for a knock-down price having refused a new deal with Ajax, and with his contract entering its final year, the Dutch club know they must sell or face losing him for nothing. Inter Milan, Tottenham and Chelsea have all shown an interest in the playmaker in recent times but Rodgers believes he has a distinct advantage in the race for his signature. Liverpool centre-half Daniel Agger is the midfielder's captain at international level while Reds forward Luis Suarez also played alongside him when he first broke into the Ajax team. It is understood the Northern Irishman is prepared to work this to his advantage in bringing the exciting young talent to Anfield.
