During the Premier League era, Liverpool have been a club who are known to spend money. This summer alone, manager Brendan Rodgers topped the £100M mark, bringing in the likes of Adam Lallana and Mario Balotelli to strengthen Liverpool's squad as they plot a title challenge. Rodgers has continued a tradition from former managers Gerard Houllier and Rafa Benitez who also weren't afraid to splash the cash at Anfield, but his predecessors did so with mixed results.
