Liverpool Transfers: Brendan Rodgers Wants NINE New Signings

Brendan Rodgers eyes a striker and two full-backs to continue his rebuild.

Having just put the final touches to the deal that has seen highly rated Belgian striker Divock Origi join the club for £10m, and return to his former side Lille on loan, it turns out that Brendan Rodgers still hasn't finished his summer spending spree. He's already seen an attempt to sign Loic Remy rebuffed by either some mysterious conspiracy that Harry Redknapp is on the trail of uncovering or a deep lying medical condition that made him fail not only the medical, but also a second opinion examination in Boston, depending on who you ask, but Rodgers is undeterred in his agenda to bring in as many new strikers as possible ahead of a busy season back in the Champions League. According to Sky Sports News - who announced that the Origi deal was done - confirmed that Rodgers wants another THREE additions to his squad after signing Emre Can, Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Lazar Markovic and Origi. Those three signings will be a striker to replace Loic Remy and two full-backs, presumably because Brendan Rodgers has finally realised that his team's faith in Glen Johnson is not a great idea. Quite who the striker will be remains to be seen - especially now that Southampton have finally closed their doors to stop their players wandering out into other fields, taking Jay Rodriguez out of the Northern Irishman's sights - but we do know that one of the full-backs is already being worked on. Rodgers is attempting to finish up a loan deal for Atletico Madrid's Javier Manquillo as one of the full-backs - a deal that should be completed in the coming days. The striker search continues.
