After weeks of discussions, Romelu Lukaku is officially an Inter
Milan player.
The player and his agent had flown out to Italy last night,
and the final touches were being put to the transfer earlier today. Now, Inter
have confirmed that the deal is done.

According to Sky
Italia, Manchester United and Inter settled on a transfer fee of £73
million for the Belgium international. Those same reports claim that the powerhouse
forward has signed a five-year deal worth £150,000 per week.
This brings an end to one of the longest-running transfer
sagas of the summer.

Originally, Antonio Conte’s Inter struggled to meet United’s
valuation of the former Everton striker. So much so, Serie A rivals Juventus
swooped in and were favourites to sign Lukaku.
That move to Juve fell apart, of course, when the Red Devils
were unsure that Paulo Dybala – who was being offered in exchange for Lukaku –
was fully committed to moving to Manchester.

After that deal collapsed, Inter Milan returned with a new
and improved offer that finally saw this deal get over the line.
For United, however, their fans are up in arms at the fact
that the Old Trafford club have still yet to replace Lukaku as the transfer deadline
of 5pm today looms large.
