Manchester City Transfer Bid For Inter's Wesley Sneijder

Manchester City want to make Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder their first summer signing.

Manchester City want to make Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder their first summer signing, according to Football Italia. After Eden Hazard snubbed the Etihad for Stamford Bridge this week, the Premier League Champions are looking to make a statement of intent for next season. Things have been unusually quiet for the notoriously high spenders in the transfer market so far as the teams around them have strengthened, with Podolski joining Arsenal, Hazard joining Chelsea and Kagawa set to join United. However, City have finally moved into action, and according to Italian newspaper Gazetto dello Sport are set to meet Inter€™s asking price of around £30 million. The transfer would be a crushing blow for Manchester United, who have long been admirers of the Dutchman. The former Ajax and Real Madrid player has scored 19 goals in 108 appearances for Inter, and has provided 32 assists. He is set to feature for Holland at this summer's European Championships and has scored 23 times in 81 appearances for the Netherlands. He won the UEFA Champions League with Inter in 2010 and is regularly thought of as one of the best players in his position.
