Religion
Ok I know this sounds ridiculous, can you really blame religion for a drop in form? Possibly. The Filipino people are deeply religious; and superstitious. There arent many places in the world that will re-enact the crucifixion of Christ during holy week, In the Philippines this is the norm. The streets are full of people re-enacting the Stations of the Cross during holy week, so maybe its not so crazy to blame religion after all. In 2011 Manny left the Catholic Church and joined a bible based movement who referred to themselves as Christians. Since his conversion, Pacmans mother Dionisia Pacquiao claims that he has been unable to concentrate on boxing because his number one dedication is now prayer, even during hours of sleep, Since the Protestant pastors came into his life, he has not focused on his boxing, Mrs Pacquiao said, They always pray, with Manny losing sleep. I hope he listens to me when he returns, and be a Catholic again, she said. Pacquiaos devoutly Catholic mother even claimed it was as a direct result of her sons change of faith that he lost the fight to Marquez, Thats what he gets for changing his religion, she said in an interview in their hometown of General Santos City. In conclusion I am asking on behalf of boxing fans all over the world, myself included. Manny forget about Religion and Politics and get back to the Manny Pacquiao of old, the one who ended the careers of all-time greats like De La Hoya and Hatton. If you can do that then maybe the people will demand for that Mayweather fight again. The Pacquiao of 2009 would have knocked Mayweather unconscious. There's plenty of time for religion and Politics when you retire, so shelf those plans for now. If you are not prepared to sacrifice then maybe you should just retire now, I for one hope to see the Pacman of old on this coming November 3rd against Brandon Rios.
