It wasn't the best of starts for Papiss who showed how up for the game he was by failing to react to a loose ball on the edge of the area inside the first six minutes. It got better from the Senegalese however, as he chased and harried the Reds' backline. He looked like he cared. He should have put United one-up after the half hour, but screwed a snap shot wide after expertly bringing down a deep cross from the right. He messed up another guilt-edged opening eight minutes later, but after baring down on goal with only a couple of Liverpool defenders in his way, he ran straight into them and the chance petered out. Didn't seem to touch the ball in the second half before being taken off.
