Newcastle Striker Nominated For Player Of The Month Award

NUFC loanee, Adam Armstrong has been very impressive during his first month at Coventry City.

Newcastle United striker, Adam Armstrong who is currently on loan at Coventry City has been nominated for the League One Player of the Month award. The 18-year-old striker has buried five goals in as many games for the Sky Blues and has scored some spectacular goals. Armstrong scored a brace on the first game of the season against Wigan and then followed that up against Millwall where he bagged another two goals, helping Coventry to a fifth place position in League One. The hope is that Steve McClaren can integrate Armstrong into his set-up at the end of the season and he can use his lower division experience to begin to compete at the top level. It would be a shame if the England U18's international didn't succeed at the Magpies as he's clearly a very fine young footballer. West Denton-born Armstrong has made 19 first-team appearances for Newcastle to date but is yet to find the back of the net. The forward has been prolific in both the reserves and for England Under-18s, however - netting nine times in as many games for the Young Lions.
