Newcastle Transfer News: Magpies Loan Bid For Andy Carroll
Newcastle United have made sensational bid to sign former striker Andy Carroll on loan from Liverpool
Newcastle United have made sensational bid to sign former striker Andy Carroll on loan from Liverpool, with a view to making the move permanent. The striker struggled for form at Anfield last season and is not thought to be part of Brendon Rodgers' plans. The clubs new manager has hinted that the Merseyside club could be willing to listen to offers for the forward who has found the net just 11 times in 56 appearances for Liverpool. Italian giants AC Milan and Premier League newcomers West Ham United are also thought to be interested in signing Carroll on loan. However the fact Newcastle's offer is said to include a potentially more permanent element at the end of an initial loan spell will be of greater interest to The Reds. Newcastle sold Carroll to Liverpool just 18 months ago for £35m - a transfer which, at the time, placed it 8th on the world's most expensive transfers.
