Next England Manager: 10 Best Candidates To Replace Sam Allardyce
7. Sean Dyche
Burnley manager Sean Dyche is a shrewd operator who has achieved great things on a tiny budget with his current club. Under his leadership, have been promoted to the Premier League on two separate occasions (2014 and 2016), and while the club’s 2015 relegation might be seen as a mark against Dyche, they didn’t go down through his incompetence.
Far from it, in fact. Dyche’s Burnley are a feisty, well-organised side whose leader understands the value of leadership, cohesion, and team spirit. The club never spend beyond their means, and their summers are characterised by very little player turnover compared to other sides. This year saw Burnley sign just 4 new players on permanent deals, with Dyche reluctant to break-up the team that brought them to the Premier League in the first place, and all of this works in his favour.
With just one full season of Premier League management under his belt, Dyche is lacking in experience, and the FA may see him as one for the future rather than an immediate option. His Burnley contract is another stumbling block, and with Dyche seemingly happy as Larry at Turf Moor, he might not even take the FA’s phone call. Still, he’s a strong English manager who doesn’t always get the credit he deserves.
