Round 7, Pick 218 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbwXnrrN3Ws Like I said earlier, the Philadelphia Eagles had a good amount of steals in this year's draft. Jordan Poyer was the final one. Poyer, who was an All-American, dominated the Pac-12 this past season with 50 tackles, 2 sacks, and 7 interceptions. In May of 2012, Poyer was charged with second-degree trespassing. This may have had something to do with him dropping. However, 26 conerbacks went in front of him. There is no way Jordan Poyer was the 27th best cornerback in this years draft. The Eagles happily took him in the seventh round and I believe he will contribute greatly to the struggling Eagles defense. The Eagles needed another cornerback and it was surprising that through 6 rounds they still haven't chose one. Poyer has a fluid hips and has solid coverage skills. He doesn't have the grittiness you like from a defender, but he will compete even when he is out of position. He was a good returner for the Oregon State Beavers, but don't look for him to be a solid returner in the NFL as he doesn't seem to have the elusiveness to be dynamic. Poyer will push veterans Cary Williams and Bradley Fletcher for the starting gig. He may not start this year, however look for Poyer to be starting in the Eagles secondary down the road.
