PES 2019 Review: 5 Reasons It's Awesome
2. 10 New Licensed Leagues
For anyone who's been a long term fan of Pro Evolution Soccer, you'll know that when the series loses something, it has a tendency to gain something in return. Lose Bayern Munich, gain Borussia Dortmund. Lose Manchester United and Tottenham, gain Arsenal and Liverpool. You get the idea.
This year, PES took one of it's heaviest losses to date as their exclusive license with UEFA, which gave them the rights to both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, finally came to an end, presumably lost to the bottomless pockets of EA Sports.
However, with great loss comes great gain, and true to form Konami have responded to said loss in the best possible way. The Japanese giants have acquired ten new licensed leagues for PES 2019, and those acquisitions include Colombian Categoria Primera, Argentine Primera Division, Belgian First Division A, Chilean Primera Division, Danish Superliga, Portuguese Primeira Liga, Russian Premier League, Scottish Premiership, Swiss Super League and Turkish Super Lig.
All those leagues are fully licensed - yes, fully licensed - and although some of these may not be prime league competitions for a lot of fans, their inclusion does mean that more players with preset faces have been added too. So that's a whole lot more players to sign in Master League, and with Konami finally getting the best out their Fox Engine, who the hell wouldn't want to see more of those beautiful, beautiful preset faces?
