The Baggies finished 10th last season and appear well equipped to go even better this term after some shrewd recruitment as the deadline approached.

Albion brought in experienced Premier League players in Gareth Barry, Kieran Gibbs, and Jay Rodriguez; the latter two of whom have a point to prove.

Tony Pulis will hope pacey Scottish youngster Oliver Burke offers something different to his well-organised unit, which, crucially, is still led by Jonny Evans. Bids for the West Brom captain from Man City and Arsenal were stubbornly batted away.

And the loan arrival of Polish defensive midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak from PSG is arguably the coup of the summer. They will give everybody a game.
