Premier League: 10 Best Transfer Bargains of 2012

6. Granero (QPR, £9 million)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjTL64_q9Gw A player who loves shooting from distance. Granted, at £9 million, he is a touch pricey, but buying talented players from Spain is rarely an inexpensive business, and he's worth every penny. See him as more of an investment. At the age of 25, he's hardly a starlet now, but he is still improving in every game as he adapts to the Premier League. With a goal and an assist already in the 5 league games he's played, the hope is he can provide goals from midfield when players like Adel Taarabt and Shaun Wright-Phillips go missing or have a tantrum. QPR have signed an astonishing 26 players since their promotion, with many either being a temporary fix, or just plain rubbish. But in Esteban Granero, the Hoops have a gem. The only worry is that his attacking mentality might have to be put aside in the matches Diakite will inevitably be banned for while QPR try to tighten up at the back and avoid relegation. Rating: 8/10 A budget Xabi Alonso?
