3. Steven Fletcher (Sunderland, £12 million)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rU72K4noGZg While many, including myself, were skeptical that he warranted such a transfer fee, he has already begun to repay it with fine goalscoring form, scoring 5 goals in 5 league appearances for the Black Cats. His effectiveness has also been noticed by higher powers, dubbing him the Barclays Premier League Player of the Month for September, showing he is a more than adequate replacement for Asamoah Gyan, and one that was sorely needed. Having scored a brace on his debut for the Wearside club, Fletcher will undoubtedly hope to relish his fine run of form for as long as it lasts, and should also be aiming to surpass his tally for Wolves last season, when his 12 goals were not enough to save them from relegation. Rating: 9/10 Fantastic start.
