3. City Fail To Finish Jigsaw
Manchester City are without a doubt one of the best sides in the division and they're rightly considered the favourites for the title. They are extremely close to a perfect squad but were missing one final ingredient - and still are thanks to a noticeable lack of activity this winter. City lack in defence: they need another centre-back to fix their defensive frailties and it was widely expected they would solve this issue in January. They have the money and the attraction but ultimately they ended up with nothing. If anything is going to cost City the title this year it is their failure to bring in a defender this January. They might have one of the most overloaded attacks in the league, but that cannot win the title on its own, and a strong defensive foundation has been the cornerstone for most successful Premier League winning sides in the history of the competition.
