Ranking Newcastle's Transfer Dealings 2014-15 - Incomings

5. Siem De Jong - Signed For £6 Million (From Ajax)

Appearances (All Competitions): 2 (3) Minutes Played (Premier League): 147 Assists (All Competitions): 0 Goals (All Competitions): 1 Yellow Cards (Premier League): 0 Red Cards (Premier League): 0
Season Rating: 5 Value-For-Money Rating: 5 His goal off the bench against Swansea City proved exactly what De Jong could be capable of in the Premier League - but he just didn't feature regularly enough due to injury, making just two starts all season. Newcastle want to build their side around the £6 million Dutch international - so let's hope he can stay fit next season and really show what he is capable of. For now, even 5 may be a bit generous of a value-for-money rating considering he has only made five appearances across all competitions, but he is a class act and, over time, he will turn into a bargain - if he can stay fit.
