Ranking Sunderland's Premier League Home Kits - From Worst To Best

13. 2005-07

The 2005-06 kit wasn't terrible, after all, Lonsdale stuck to plain red and white stripes and made a clean job of it. Even the fact that the kit was indeed made by Lonsdale doesn't go against it. As a piece of shaped material, it was a nice item for the two years it was used. However, it's difficult to feel any sort of love towards a shirt that saw Sunderland smash the all-time lowest Premier League points tally with just 15 in a whole season, breaking the record set by themselves just three years previous. The kit lingered on until the Championship, where the Roy Keane effect saw some life injected into it, though the damage was done. It remained the 'relegation shirt'.
