Spurs Poll: Should Benjamin Stambouli Start Against Sunderland?

Do Spurs need their new French midfielder to play immediately?

One of Spurs' six new signings this summer was French midfielder Benjamin Stambouli. The combative player cost £4.7 million from Ligue 1 side Montpellier and is believed to be the alternate choice to Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin. Stambouli joins left back Ben Davies who joined from Swansea City for £10 million, goalkeeper Michel Vorm who also joined from Swansea City for £5 million, centre back Eric Dier who joined from Sporting Clube de Portugal for £4 million, right back DeAndre Yedlin who joined from Seattle Sounders for £2.5 million and centre back Federico Fazio who joined from Sevilla for £8 million. Stambouli is one of four from the six who haven't played for Spurs yet. Davies and Dier have each donned the white shirt, but the Frenchman, Vorm, Yedlin and Fazio haven't. This Saturday, Spurs take on Gus Poyet's Sunderland at the Stadium of Light and the Lilywhites will be looking to bounce back after a 3-0 thrashing at home to Liverpool in their last game before the international break. After a promising start to the season prior to that defeat, the leaky defence that was so problematic for Spurs last season reared its ugly head again and Mauricio Pochettino might want to put Stambouli in front of it to give it some protection - but do you think the uncapped Frenchman has what it takes to be thrown in already, having only signed on deadline day?
