Spurs Poll: Did Tottenham Deserve What They Got At Sunderland?

Should Spurs have already finished the Black Cats off prior to letting them come back?

Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland battled out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the Stadium of Light on Saturday - in spite of the fact that Spurs had around 64% of the possession and had 27 attempts at goal compared to Sunderland's 10. Spurs took an early lead when Emmanuel Adebayor's shot from just outside the box was parried out by goalkeeper Vito Mannone straight in to the path of Nacer Chadli, who coolly finished for this third goal of the season after two minutes. A mere minute later, Sunderland's Adam Johnson had weaved in and out of a number of Spurs defenders before his deflected effort crept in to the net in between a flailing Hugo Lloris and Danny Rose. A frantic start saw several other chances for each team to score more goals in the first few minutes, but they went in level at half time, despite Spurs having dominated for much of the first period. Two minutes after the restart, Christian Eriksen put Spurs back in front by taking advantage of a mini scramble in the goalmouth to toe-poke the ball home. Spurs had hit the woodwork a number of times and really should have finished the match off as they piled the pressure on the Black Cats, but an in-swinging free kick that had bypassed a crowd of players deflected in off a hapless Harry Kane with eight minutes to go and the match ended with the points shared. Given Spurs' utter dominance of this match, we want to know if you think they got exactly what they deserved, having not taken their chances to finish the game off, or if they were unlucky not to walk away with the three points.
