Spurs Transfer News: £17 Million Bid Coming For Burak Yilmaz?
Reports are surfacing from Turkish newspaper Aksam (via The Mirror) that Tottenham Hotspur have expressed an interest in securing the services of 27 year-old Turkish international and Galatasaray striker Burak Yilmaz. The proposed £17 million deal, according to the Mirror Online, comes as an aggressive move from the London outfit as they look to build a team in which superstar Gareth Bale could be convinced is worth playing for next season and for seasons to come. Spurs look likely in securing the signature of emerging Brazilian midfielder Paulinho after the completion of the Confederations Cup, after they matched the £17 million release clause he had in his contract with Corinthians. Those at White Hart Lane are excited for this deal to be finalised as to the player himself.
"To play in England for a great team like Tottenham is a dream. What I respect about Tottenham is the ambition they have shown. This summer there has been interest in their coach and their best player - and they have been clear they both are not going anywhere," Paulinho said. The addition of Paulinho along with Yilmaz to Tottenham's squad would be a massive coup for Andre Villas-Boas as he looks to regenerate his team as they strive for European places. The big Turkish forward netted an impressive eight goals in Gala's European campaign for 2012/13 catching the eye of some of Europe's biggest clubs. Having only the ageing Jermaine Defoe and the enigmatic and inconsistent Emmanuel Adebayor as strikers on their books Spurs need to find goals .... maybe Yilmaz can be their guy? http://youtu.be/9Tiv6aQ_gtc
