Spurs Transfers: 5 Better Striking Options Than David Villa

5. Alvaro Negredo

The Sevilla forward has just struck 21 La Liga goals this season and 27 in 39 overall appearances for Unai Emery's side, and has been a long-term target for Tottenham. The Spaniard was heavily linked with a move to White Hart Lane back in January amid claims the Spanish outfit were in dire financial straits and were willing to sell their star man, though a move failed to materialise. Following his switch from Almería in 2009, Negredo has been in fine form, bagging 82 goals in 177 overall appearances for the La Liga side. However, the 27-year old is also wanted by Borussia Dortmund, who have identified him as the ideal replacement for the outgoing Robert Lewandowski, meaning Andre Villas-Boas will be faced with some stiff competition in landing his man this summer. At £15 million though, Negredo represents a bargain price and would be better value for money than the £10 million rated - and much older - Villa.
