Sunderland Transfers: 10 Dream Alternatives To Fabio Borini

3. Javier Hernández

Manchester United€™s €˜Little Pea€™ could perhaps be likened to Borini, in a similar mould a quick, nippy forward with an eye for goal. While after his initial breakthrough ahead of schedule at Old Trafford, he has since struggled to make his mark for them. He could well be surplus to requirements now, and at a similar price tag to Borini could Hernandez be a great alternative? It has to be admitted, that he has seldom played in a wide role for United but his all-round game would suggest he could make the move out wide, if required. As a goal scorer, Hernandez is quite the poacher and super-sub as Sunderland fans know all about. The Mexican barely featured for his country during the World Cup, suggesting he now needs a change of club and Poyet might find it hard to ignore a player of his abilities at the right time or price. The biggest difference between Hernandez and Borini comes in their respective work rates: Sunderland became spoilt by Borini€™s selflessness in tracking back or pressuring defenders to win the ball back last season, but Hernandez usually only applies the pressure on defenders when chasing them down in the box, very much playing the out and out forward only for United. That would certainly have to change, but that wouldn't necessarily be insurmountable at all.
