Swansea academy product Joe Allen was a pivotal player in the centre of midfield in their promotion season. With endless energy and an eye for a pass, Allen was a key player for the Jacks in their rise through the leagues. Touted as a possible future captain, Allen was nabbed by Liverpool in August 2012. A scapegoat for much of Liverpool€™s misfortunes, Allen seems to have won back the Anfield faithful with a string of composed performances. He€™s now a first team player and probably worth the big money Liverpool shelved out for him.
