Back in 2010, James Milner became one of the most expensive signings after joining Manchester City, but he proved to be the most bang for the buck.

In five years at the club, the England international became the midfield maestro. He was used in various positions in the centre of the park and Milner always came out on top.

His versatility was praised by several of his managers at the club while Manuel Pellegrini even deemed him to be the 'most complete English player in modern football'.

After capping 203 appearances and winning five trophies, he left for Liverpool in 2015 and has raised the bar higher under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp, making several records and lifting more silverware, including the Champions League last year.
