The Most Expensive World Footballer XI Of All Time

10. Right Back: Joao Cancelo - £60 Million

Right up until transfer deadline day, the player filling this slot would have been Man City's right back Kyle Walker. The £45 million the Citizens paid for England international in 2017 ensured his status as the world's most expensive right back for two years, until the Citizens broke their own record.

In a deal that sent Danilo the other way for £34.1 million, Man City brought Joao Cancelo over to the blue side of Manchester from Juventus for £60 million.

Despite being just 25 years old, the Portugese international has already become something of a journeyman in his career, with Man City set to be his fifth club since making his senior debut in 2013. Cancelo played just one first team game for Benfica before moving to Valencia, where he played four seasons. This was followed by one season each at Inter Milan and Juventus, finally leading to the Etihad.

Ever since his move to Valencia, the right back has enjoyed a lot of playing time, however City will prove much more of a challenge. With Kyle Walker in the starting position, it will take some incredible performances, and a bit of luck, if Cancelo is going to break into the first team.
