Tottenham Transfer News: Hugo Lloris £13.5 Million Bid
France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is the next major transfer target for new Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas.
Goal.com. The 25-year-old Lyon goalkeeper has been linked with Tottenham for the last few weeks and having reportedly already had a £12million bid rejected by the French side, Spurs are now preparing to improve their offer to £13.5 million. Lloris has also caught the eye of Tottenham's Premier League rivals Arsenal and if either club does agree a deal with Lyon, a contracted salary of at least £80,000-a-week would be in order to temp the French international in to coming to England. The Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas, admitted Lloris could leave Lyon this summer:
"Lloris told me that he would like to leave if he has an opportunity to play for one of the five biggest European sides. If any of these teams make an offer meeting his market value, 20m, he will be allowed to leave. For now, though, I have not received any offers, neither from Arsenal nor from elsewhere."Even though Lloris is the number one choice at Lyon, reports suggest he is very keen on moving to the Premier League and playing in front of White Hart Lane. Spurs £13.5 million may not be enough as the goalkeeper is valued by the club at £15.8 million, although Tottenham may improve the offer if they can sell either Luka Modric or Rafael Van der Vaart. Villas-Boas is keen on bringing in a new full time goalkeeper at Spurs as he does not wish to start next season with 41-year-old Brad Friedel who was Harry Redknapp's first choice 'keeper in his final season.
