West Brom: 5 Reasons They Will Be Relegated This Season

2. Their Signings Haven€™t Really Worked Out

To be honest, I always had concerns for West Brom this season because they seemed to be slow of the mark in the summer transfer window. It looked for a long time that they might not spend any money of their squad at all. However, in the end, they did make some late signings that gave the team a life. Nevertheless, that initial excitement has now worn of, and it€™s now questionable how much the team was actually strengthened. For instance, Nicolas Anelka has been a disaster both on and off the pitch. Other signings like Matej Vydra and Scott Sinclair have hardly played €“ while others such as Stephane Sessegnon haven€™t made the sort of impact that the Baggies would have liked. In my opinion, Victor Anichebe has never been a natural goalscorer, so it shouldn€™t come as a massive surprise that he has only found the net three times this season; it€™s also worth noting that they have lost someone who could have scored goals for them in the shape of Shane Long. Finally, it remains to be seen if January capture Thievy will be able to have a positive impact on the team at this late stage.
