West Ham: 5 Reasons Why They Can Stay Up

2. Recent Form Has Been Good

I mentioned West Ham€™s record of picking up clean sheets earlier, but that only tells half the story because the team has combined that with some very good results. A quick look at the Premier League form table is very good reading from Hammers fans as they currently fourth just at the right time in the season; only Chelsea and Liverpool have taken more points over the course of the last six games. The run of result in full has included four wins, one draw and just the one defeat. I think it€™s fair to say that when we looked at the Premier League table earlier in the season, many others formed certain assumptions about the top and the bottom of the league; it€™s also clear that many of those assumptions have been wrong. West Ham have proved to us all that all that really matters is how you finish the season, and they seem to be doing that extremely strongly. This is all proved that teams can be poor for much of the season, but still get themselves out of trouble late in the campaign. It€™s also worth noting that the Hammers are grinding out results rather than necessarily outplaying every team.
