West Ham Transfers: 5 Strikers Needed To Avert Relegation

2. Ross McCormack

Dropping down a division for this next target where this man has been scoring for fun for Leeds United in their bid for promotion to the Premier League. To be precise, 17 goals have been netted in 24 Championship outings for the Scot making him top scorer in the Championship thus far. An asset to many a team, he is very versatile and can play all along the front or behind the striker or even on the wings. But, the Hammers have a decent set of wingers and their midfield is the strongest area in terms of depth, I don't see Allardyce sticking him where he won't be able to do what he does best: score goals. Not the best passer with an average accuracy of 78.7%, it is most definitely Allardyce's priority to stick him up front whether it be as a lone front man or pairing him up with any of the current personnel so he can see the perfect result. One sticking point with this potential deal however is the new contract he signed in August undoubtedly allowing Leeds to ramp his value by a couple of million after tying their asset to Elland Road. However, if Leeds, currently sit 8th, plummet down the Championship during January which significantly scuppers their play off chances, McCormack may decide to jump ship for his first crack at the Premier League.
