10 Actors Who Suffered The Most After Game Of Thrones
6. Maisie Williams
Maisie Williams was just 14 years old when she first starred as the veritable tomboy warrior and faceless assassin Arya Stark. Like many others who starred in the show, this role became her whole life from then on and she had to deal with the consequences of stardom.
For such a young actress, Williams had to endure the stress of a demanding industry and the fact that Arya would become a fan-favourite character as well as Arya’s lust for life in a male dominated world meant that she was an inspiration to young girls and women. However, during the filming of the second and third season of Game Of Thrones, Williams began to have major issues with her body image as she moved through her teenage years.
Williams stated in an interview: "I don't know, that just felt horrible for six months of the year, and I felt kind of ashamed for a while." Although time has passed since then, her role in Game Of Thrones gave Williams an identity crisis thanks to playing a character disguised as a boy. Today, Williams has moved on to star in mainstream feature films after Game Of Thrones, but being in such a big limelight at such a young age in such a demanding role definitely left its mark on her.
