10 Actors Who Were Removed From TV Shows In 2021

Gina Carano has never been shy about sharing her opinions. The actress and former MMA star became quite the thorn in the side of Disney's breakout show, The Mandalorian, for sharing numerous social media posts questioning the effectiveness of masks in the pandemic, mocking preferred gender pronouns, and alleging fraud in the US presidential election of 2020.

These posts elicited constant controversy leading to numerous calls on social media for Disney and Lucasfilm to fire her.

These prayers were finally answered in February 2021, when Carano found herself in hot water again, this time for a now-deleted post trivializing the Holocaust. This was the final straw, fuelling renewed calls for her dismissal which Disney finally complied with by firing her from The Mandalorian and condemning the actress' behaviour.

Carano denied the accusations of antisemitism levelled against her, and accused Disney of bullying her, reiterating that her firing was politically motivated.

While her Mandalorian character is being dropped, at the time of writing it's unclear how Rangers of The New Republic, a spin-off show rumoured to star her character, will be effected.
