10 Actors You Didn’t Know Played The Same Character In More Than One TV Show
1. Lisa Kudrow - Ursula Buffay (Mad About You & Friends)
Mad About You was a sitcom that ran from 1992 to 1999. It was about the life of a married couple in New York City, and won four Golden Globes and 12 Emmys during its time. It also gave us our first look at Ursula Buffay, and, by proxy, her twin sister Phoebe.
Lisa Kudrow played Ursula on 24 episodes of Mad About You. She was a forgetful waitress in a restaurant frequented by the main gang, and eventually becomes Governor of New York - according to the show's flash-forward season finale.
There really is hope for everyone.
Ursula would appear again on the sixteenth episode of Friends as main character Phoebe Buffay's "evil twin" sister. Over the course of the show, she would date Joey, get stalked by David Arquette, and become a porn star, which kind of puts the whole "Governor of New York" thing in serious doubt.
It's strange to think that a character on one of the biggest TV shows of all time (played by one of the stars of said show) actually appeared in a different show two years earlier.
It just goes to show that TV-land is a strange place, and that any character can turn up on any show, at any time.
