10 Amazing TV Shows You'll Probably Never Watch Again

9. The Sarah Jane Adventures

Sometimes, real-life tragedy gets in the way and makes something a lot harder to rewatch. Case in point: The Sarah Jane Adventures.

This CBBC Doctor Who spin-off, which revolved around the beloved Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen), was a really great thing. It had the ever-wonderful Sarah Jane, backed her up with a gang of refreshingly lovable teenage sidekicks, and sent these characters through many smart, well-written adventures, many of which gracefully tackled some darker themes without ever speaking down to viewers.

In stark contrast to Torchwood, which was, even though Whovians deign to admit it, pretty poor aside from its third season, The Sarah Jane Adventures remained consistently good all the way through and emerged as the truly elite Doctor Who spin-off. It also gave us the Trickster (Paul Marc-Davies), one of the best and most terrifying Doctor Who villains of all time, so there's that as well.

Alas, tragedy behind the scenes struck as Elisabeth Sladen passed away unexpectedly in early 2011. As such, there's now an air of sadness hanging over the whole thing that makes it difficult to revisit, and this feeling is amplified by the fact that the show was essentially left incomplete thanks to Sladen's death. Several planned storylines, including a twist that Sarah Jane's new adopted daughter Sky Smith (Sinead Michael) was actually a child of the Trickster, were left hanging, so the series never got a proper ending, thus making the prospect of watching it now even less appealing.
