4. Olenna Redwyne

Olenna is a great character: one of the few that can match Cersei in scheming and conniving, she has the added bonus of a sense of humour and a lightness of touch, as opposed to being a maniac with a quenchless bloodlust. It this sense, Olenna is a yin to Cersei's yang: protective of her granddaughter, equally ambitious, but capable of a charm and sense of perspective her rival is not. Quite where her path leads is ultimatley difficult to say, much of it rests on her granddaughter's relationship with King Tommen. She is certainly rumoured to feature more heavily this Season. Known around the kingdom as the Queen of Thorns, it's not difficult to see why with her razor wit and sharp put-downs, but unfortunately the audience hasn't had enough time with her so far. This is probably due to her lacking a personal storyline beyond the more general plot of getting her daughter nearer the throne. Thankfully that looks set to change very soon.
