2. The Evolution Of Heisenberg - Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad Season5 Hail The King2top It's been printed many times that Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan wanted to make a show about Mr. Chips into Scarface. For fans and followers of the show, it was an odd sensation. A man who we sympathized with, and even rooted for, was turning into a monster before our very eyes. Not only did he not resemble the Walter White from the first few episodes in manner and motive, but he was physically changing as well. As the cancer went into remission, Walter became less distinguishable from the man he was, and more like the men he claimed to be afraid of and sickened by. It became clear by the first half of season 5, he was no longer Walter White pretending to be Heisenberg, but he was actually Heisenberg pretending to be Walter White. Watching Jane die. Mowing down drug dealers with his Pontiac Aztek. Poisoning Brock. Killing Gustavo Fring. Lastly, and most gruesomely, orchestrating the murder of 10 jail inmates all within two minutes of one other - not to mention threatening Hank with his "tread lightly" speech. He somewhat redeemed himself in the series finale, but the entirety of the show was about this ongoing character change. There's a reason the show was titled "Breaking Bad" and not "Broke Bad."
