10 Beloved TV Shows SAVED By Fans

1. Brooklyn Nine Nine

Brooklyn Nine Nine is easily one of the most beloved TV comedies of recent years.

It's not hard to understand why, either. The show's inoffensive humour and willingness to deal with delicate social issues has earned it a reputation as all at once hilariously funny, family-friendly, and socially conscious.

However, after the show's first five seasons Fox noted a dip in Brooklyn Nine-Nine ratings and cancelled the beloved cop comedy.

Fans of the show were quick to voice their outrage, immediately taking to social media to lobby for the show's continued existence.

These fans were heard, and Brooklyn Nine Nine went from being cancelled by Fox to being picked up by NBC in less than 24 hours. NBC has been the show's home for its last two seasons, and an eighth is on the way.

Perhaps the strangest twist in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's cancellation is that NBC had originally passed on the show. Although Universal Television had felt strongly enough about the pitch for the show to agree to produce it, their parent company, NBC, decided they weren't interest in airing it. This allowed the Fox network to swoop in and give it life, before killing it and having NBC swiftly revive it.

What a strange, strange world the television industry is.
