3. Arrested Development

Arrested Development's initial three-season run was on Fox from 2003 to 2006. While it may never have earned the network massive ratings, it certainly captured a cult following, and when rumours that the show would be cancelled after its second season surfaced, fans organised a creative campaign to keep it on the air.

In reference to the show's banana stand and the money that's always in it, fans mailed fake bananas to Fox in the hopes of saving the Bluths from cancellation.

This somehow worked and Fox renewed the show for a third season, although they then promptly cancelled it and moved on.

Thankfully, Arrested Development didn't end there. Netflix picked up the show for a fourth season in 2013, and a fifth was released in 2018.

After a number of issues behind the scenes regarding the conduct of one of the show's stars, Arrested Development's future is once again looking a little murky. While it's a shame that Arrested Development has always been forced to live up to its name, at least the show's cult following were successful in saving the show twice.
