7. Final Space
One of the newest additions to our list, Final Space had a stumbly beginning as the characters came across as obnoxious and the humour felt silly but once the main plotline got going, it became easier to invest into the show’s storyline and themes.
Final Space has a great balance of several different genres, ushering in comedy, drama and mystery amongst the sci-fi adventures.
With a very colourful look into outer space, it follows Gary Goodspeed and his unconventional team – an alien friend named Mooncake, and an anthropomorphic cat Avocato who is wanted by the evil Lord Commander. Together, they’ll discover the secrets of the universe and find out what “Final Space” is.
The series is still young, and whilst there are certainly grey areas (particularly on setting the show’s general tone), for a show with such ambiguity and layers, it’s intriguing to find out where Final Space will go next.
