4. The Return Of Maul
Darth Maul has become a big character again thanks to appearances in Rebels, Solo, and various comic book titles. Despite his extensive catalog of stories in the old EU, it was The Clone Wars that really resurged interest in the character and led to his role in subsequent projects.
His resurrection arc is essential viewing to understand how Maul survived for so long, and how he moves forward into the story. Consisting of four episodes, the arc wraps up many plot elements left open by the previous nightsister episodes. Massacre, Bounty, Brothers, and Revenge all work perfectly together as they show how our different groups of characters better serve the overall story.
Massacre is certainly what the title suggests, giving us our most insane look at Dathomir and the Witches' magic yet. Bounty shows us Ventress's second calling in life, bumping into Boba Fett along the way. While Brothers, and Revenge focus on bringing back Maul and pursuing his revenge against Obi Wan Kenobi.
With plenty of lightsaber action, insanity, and a fascinating depiction of mental health therapy (Maul literally gets the dark thoughts pulled out of his head), these episodes are still some of the series most ambitious and crazy in all seven seasons.
