10 Best Characters From Michael Schur TV Shows

4. Stanley Hudson (The Office)

Ron Swanson Leslie Knope
NBC

It's hard to imagine anyone caring less about their job than Stanley Hudson. Describing him as disgruntled and detached doesn't do him justice. Stanley is so removed from what's going on around him that he routinely misses the shenanigans going on in the office.

The only thing he doesn't seem to ignore is Michael Scott, the bane of his existence, his boss and the only person that seems to draw any emotion out of him. Stanley is openly confrontational with Michael. It's hard to blame him though since Michael is pretty bad at his job and often directs his unintentional racism at him.

Michael trying to ignore Stanley's hostility is one of the key running gags in the series. Beyond that, Stanley represents the realities of the modern office environment, phoning in a job you can barely stand for someone you don't respect while being surrounded by idiots.
