The final 'break up' for Chidi and Eleanor is truly heartwrenching and somewhat unexpected, but very much fits with the deeper themes of the episode and show as a whole.

But the heartbreak suffered here is made up by the upbeat finale for Michael, who finally gets his wish of being human. The moment when he finally receives his own rewards card was enough to keep a smile on this writer's face for the next bearimy or two.
