1. The Creep Tapes

Mark Duplass and Patrick Brice decided to eschew a third entry into their found footage Creep franchise in favour of a serialised follow-up - The Creep Tapes.

Each of the six episodes focuses on one of serial killer Peachfuzz's (Duplass) victims - typically videographers he hires under false pretenses, only to spend the entire episode screwing with them before brutally dispatching them.

Though The Creep Tapes' bite-sized, half-hour format doesn't fully recapture the anxious tension of the two prior films, it's propelled forward by Duplass' terrifically creepy performance in the central role.

It's clear that Duplass is having a blast experimenting with the various get-ups and kooky scenarios which Peachfuzz uses to ensnare his victims, and while it's not doing much new with the found footage format, The Creep Tapes does serve as a reminder of how effectively it can be used to muster unnerving scares on a shoestring budget.
