10 Best It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia Characters Only In One Episode
1. Country Mac
I mean, it really wasn’t ever going to be anyone else, was it? Not only is Country Mac far and away the best Sunny guest star, the episode marks one of the best TV cameos ever.
Brilliantly played by Seann William Scott, Country Mac is Mac’s cousin from the country. He’s like Mac in pretty much every way, except much better.
They’re both gay, but (then closeted) Mac is much less comfortable with his sexuality. Likewise, both are spiritual Christians, but only Mac is preachy about it. Everything Country Mac does is hilarious, and everything about Seann William Scott’s performance fits in seamlessly with It’s Always Sunny.
While other guest stars bring a new flavour, Scott’s Country Mac feels like he’d been part of It’s Always Sunny since the beginning. It’s a shame he didn’t stick around in Philadelphia any longer; he adds real depth to the show's world building and had huge long term potential.
By the end of the episode, the Gang even decides they’d rather have Country Mac around than their Philly version. Unfortunately, after pounding beers all day, he gets into a motorcycle accident and dies.
Farewell, Country Mac. We hardly knew ye.
