10 Best X-Men: The Animated Series Episodes

1. Beyond Good And Evil, Part 4

All good things come to an end and X-Men: The Animated Series is no exception.

Originally written to be the series finale, Beyond Good and Evil ties up the previous seasons perfectly. The X-Men and Magneto are victorious, evil is vanquished, and the future is no longer at risk. Although it's a children's show at the end of the day, the writers did a remarkable job tying so many plot threads to this final fallout.

With Apocalypse set to wipe the universe from existence, the stakes couldn't get any higher. Having our heroes finally defeat Apocalypse and Cable finally protect his future, it was a fitting way to let the sun set on the X-Men.

It's a shame that this didn't close the series out as it was written to. While a handful of future episodes in both Season Four and Five were decent, so many of these stories felt like filler episodes. Beyond Good and Evil's forth and final chapter was a great curtain call for the X-Men: The Animated Series and stands as one of its best episodes.
