10 Big Finish Doctor Who Moments We Wish We Saw On-Screen
5. The Time War
We have seen the Time War very briefly on-screen, with such events as the Eighth Doctor's regeneration and the final moment of the war. But at Big Finish the era is really getting explored, with multiple series highlighting the adventures of the Eighth and War Doctor, as well as the War Master, just to name a few.
Any aspect of this era would be a marvel to see on screen, almost like Star Wars, but with the addition of a temporal conflict. From seeing huge battles between scores of Time Lord and Dalek fleets to the exploration of new and exciting worlds ravaged by this conflict.
However, there are two moments which would be brilliant on screen. The first being the War Master using the Heavenly Paradigm. This may mean very little to non-Big Finish fans, but this is the moment which makes the Master use the chameleon arch and become a baby Professor Yana. The device alters the universe, and began to alter things the Master didn't intend on, such as the Dalek Emperor taking over the Cruicform, which was originally a Time Lord victory. This moment is perfect for showing fans how the Master made it to where he was in 'Utopia'.
The second moment is the opening of the first War Doctor audio story. It sees the War Doctor interrupt a Time Lord suicide mission, which would see them using the Time Destructor from the 'Daleks' Master Plan', on the Daleks themselves. The War Doctor takes their place, getting critically injured in the mean time, with the Time Lords believing him to be dead. This sets in motion the plot for the first box set, 'Only the Monstrous', and allows fans to see this forgotten incarnation in action.
