10 Big Finish Doctor Who Moments We Wish We Saw On-Screen

River Song, the Doctor's wife, has had so many adventures which we have never seen on screen. But at Big Finish, River Song has been united with nearly every incarnation of the Doctor. Across her own series, ‘The Diary of River Song’, River has had plenty of adventures with her, from their point of view, ‘Husband to be’.

From her debut with the Eighth Doctor, a multi-Doctor story with the Sixth and Seventh, discovering what happened to the Kovarian Chapter with the Fifth, as well as fighting the Discordia with the Fourth, Big Finish has certainly explored River’s timeline. Due to the variations in personally between each incarnation, each combination of the pair is fresh and exciting.

It’s a shame due to the limitations of the TV series that, so far, we have only seen River with Doctor’s Ten, Eleven and Twelve. But, to know that River has shared adventures with all of them really fulfils her character and story with the Doctor.

The original River and classic Doctor moment, sees the Eighth Doctor and River interact over a radio communication, as he is dragged in to assist his future wife to stop the 'Rulers of the Universe'. This allows for the two to perfectly interact and foil a plot, whilst maintaining the plot of the show, by not having the Doctor meet River before the Library.
