10 Characters Game Of Thrones Killed Off At The Wrong Time

Seeing Ned Stark die towards season one's climax was heartbreaking, but the infamous Red Wedding was utterly soul-destroying. This chaotic and bloody event was one of the show's crowning glories, as it was the perfect embodiment of the series' values of violence, death and sadness. With that being said, killing off Robb at this point in the story was still a major disappointment.

The King in the North and leading member of the Stark family possessed all the best qualities of his father but had the smarts and youth to know when to make difficult decisions. He felt like the true hero of the story and could have been if he'd survived longer. Unfortunately, the choice to break his vow with Walder Frey would ruin his potential, as it cost him, his wife, their unborn child, his mother and all of his men their lives.

While the act was shocking and presented incredibly, it's still fair to say that viewers were left with a tonne of frustration, as Robb should have at least been able to make more of an impact before his untimely demise. The death itself was incredible, but it just came a little too soon.
