10 Craziest Fan Theories About The Simpsons

3. Every Simpson Is Apparently A Genius

This theory isn't as far out there as others, as it actually makes some sort of philosophical sense. The theory goes that everyone in the Simpson family is inherently born with genius level intellect. No, seriously! Lisa is the most obvious example so we won't bother explaining her intelligence, but it turns out that her most defining character trait is not just unique to her. Homer turned out to be a genius when he had a crayon removed from his brain. The fact that he had shoved said crayon up his nose as a child probably disputes this theory, but then all Simpson males are doomed to fall victim to the the dreaded "Simpson Gene". According to Grampa Simpson, who himself was once an accomplished sergeant, pilot, jazz pianist, Olympic athlete and professional wrestler, the Simpson Gene causes all Simpson males to lose their intelligence during childhood. This would explain why Homer may have been a genius all along and how even Bart was a good speller during his early years at Springfield elementary. Speaking of Bart, many fans have pointed out that despite his lack of academic intelligence, many of his pranks would require intricately detailed planning. Could he really have constructed that "Big Butt Skinner" weather balloon without some kind of mathematics and scientific prowess? Marge may not be a Simpson, but she too was shown to be extremely intelligent in high school, before falling in love with Homer. So if all the Simpsons are geniuses, we are forced to ask. What happened? Fans point out that Homer, Marge and Bart willingly chose happiness over intelligence (which in itself could be viewed as an act of intelligence). Homer had the crayon reinserted in his brain because he was unhappy being smart. Marge chose love over academic achievement and chose to settle down and be a devoted wife and mother. Bart embraced his Simpson Gene and chose the path of underachievement and is clearly proud of it. Only Lisa has chosen to embrace her intelligence and as a result is clearly the least happy member of the family. Finally Maggie has shown signs of intelligence far beyond her years, or year as it were. We can't say what life she'll choose in the future, although the signs don't exactly point in a positive direction ...

As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG. I may have a problem! But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
