A culture clash comedy that again ran for one season in the early 90s, this was an early example of a comedy shot on location with no audience or laugh track, long before the likes of Modern Family or The Office.

Featuring TV stalwarts such as Giancarlo Esposito, Tony Plana and Ron Eldard, the show was about Giancarlo’s character moving from one coast to the other, a Washington detective finding a new home in the sleepy title town and the culture clash that ensured.

While that may sound generic and staid, the standout writing and guest actors that included William H Macy, Jane Lynch and Laura Innes elevated it above standard fish out of water fare, making its low ratings and quick cancellation a real shame.
